previous game history | n/a
personality | • Likes - health food, fitness, books and tomes, pumpkin spice cappuccino, jelly donuts, learning, dogs, computers, the newspaper and news sites, normalcy, alcohol, research, intelligent or uncomplicated women, Dean, good humor, libraries and the smell of books, kindness and warmth, stargazing and letting his mind wander, open fields, anywhere that spells freedom

• Dislikes – most fatty food (but he secretly likes some, like bacon), being without internet access, demons when someone is cruel or rude for the sake of it , clowns, oh god, clowns, and did he mention that he finds the circus creepy?

• Fears – because he's been spending so much time redeeming himself for his past mistakes, he's always worried he'll fuck up and disappoint those he loves again. He is also afraid of losing Dean. He is afterall, his last remaining family member and beloved big brother.

• Dreams – One day he'd like to settle down with a nice woman and start a life together, have a couple of kids and maybe finish college and become a lawyer like he wanted to because even though he wouldn't be helping people the way he is now, at least he'd be helping the way he wanted to then.

• Quirks – Moody (bitch) faces when someone is being stupid, or insufferable.. like Dean for instance, little smirks, grins, puppy dog faces, lopsided smiles, often looks too serious or deep in thought, grins, cocking his eyebrows, eye-rolling

• Determined & Reliable – While Sam may not be entirely happy to be in the hunting lifestyle, he is still determined to do what needs to be done and never gives up on an end goal when it comes to stopping something that hurts someone. He is also reliable in this way, you can depend on him to get the job done or die trying. He'll try not to let anyone down, if he can help it. He is also reliable for other things such as holding your money, getting something you need or keeping your secret safe. He is not one to talk about your personal problems, if you don't want him to and even if you did, he really wouldn't tell anyone then. Because he's not a gossip.

• Intelligent & Observant – Sam was a pre-law student and was about to go into law itself. That should tell you the level of intelligence this man has. Growing up he was a straight A student, despite the fact that he was often moving around from town to town, school to school. He focused on his studies and kept his head in the game, always drawn to knowledge. Sam likes things like sudoko and crossword puzzles, he also likes research, not only involving cases he might be investigating but when he comes across something he wants to know about.

He is also observant, he tends to discover things someone else might not have, or look at things in a different light. This helps him piece together facts at crime scenes and solve things that might have been giving someone a headache. He may also notice things no one else does, like a slight frown or how sad someone's eyes are, even though they're smiling.

• Serious – While he does have a sense of humor and does infact joke around, Sam is a serious individual. He tends to be a deep thinker, a contemplative person. He may not voice what he's really thinking or how he sees things, especially around Dean, who may not appreciate it.

• Emotional and Empathic – He may not outwardly show it, but Sam is sensitive. He may not voice a hurt, or take offense to small things but he certainly tends to feel tenfold. He is moved by people's plights, and weaknesses, he is intuned to his own wants and needs. He is also intuned to others wants and needs, how they're feeling and he actually understands. This tends to help him with witnesses, he doesn't mind comforting them when it's needed.

He can also be overemotional in times of distress, and does cry with little shame when the time is right or he can't really help himself. He tends to speak what he is feeling as well, when it's a dire thing to say or he feels he has to say it but don't take Sam for someone who wears his heart on his sleeve either, because he doesn't, he can also keep his feelings to himself pretty well.

• Patient – This is something he has in spades, he doesn't allow himself to become hurried. He'd much rather wait for the time to come, then try and rush it forward. He feels things get better results that way, and the saying 'Good things come to those who wait', he also has faith in. He'd much rather think things through before going in head first without everything on the table for him.

• Tactful & Respectful – Sam is a diplomat at heart, he knows how to ease a dangerous situation or talk down someone before they hurt someone or themselves, using a soft voice as if he might spook a rabbit. He also knows how to say something that might be offensive, in a nice way or simply say something nice instead of saying anything offensive at all. He is polite to those around them rather it be elders or people a few years younger than him. Though he doesn't use words like ma'am and sir toward everyone, usually only those he doesn't really know. Bobby for example, is simply Bobby to him and once upon a time, Uncle Bobby but he still respects the man highly.

• Tolerant – Sam is open minded about religion, sexuality, race and culture. He doesn't judge people too quickly or form an entire opinion about them after a first or even second meeting except fleeting thoughts such as nice, sweet or kind. He is even tolerant of the supernatural because while he has a healthy level of dislike for them, he likes to believe in the good of all beings. If he sees a supernatural creature trying to live a pleasant life instead of harming anyone, he really doesn't want to put them out of their misery. He'd rather let it go and come back to it later, if their situation suddenly changes.

• Moody – Sam has occasional mood swings, especially with the way things go in his life. Jessica and father dying, all the things that have happened up to this point. Mainly because he thinks too much if things are idle, and gets so lost inside the angst, he forgets to live at times. Those are times when you can find him quiet and not in the mood to talk. If you do try talking to him or attempting to get a rise out of him, he's likely to throw you one of his patented bitch-faces. Which means shut up or leave him alone. He's not so moody it's out of control or anything but he has those times, when he just shouldn't be bothered.

• Sarcastic – He has a tendency to use sarcasm. Quick wit, but not exactly snippy. He does have comebacks and things to say when something strikes him as wrong or a stupid thing to say.

• Tendency to lie and be secretive – If Sam doesn't want to tell you something, he won't. He'll keep it to himself, like a closed book. He'll carry around whatever burden he has until he can't anymore and it's either dragged from him or it just spills out like a rush of sea water. There are some things a man just can't say. He also lies about things, never really trivial unless it's to say he's fine or he's okay but more big things that could piss someone out when the truth comes to light.

• A person of realism, pessimism and idealism – Sam never really speaks about this outloud, but he does have idealistic views on life and what he wants from it. Like the normal family, the normal job, with the normal next door neighbors who are pleasant to be around and has barbeques on weekends with somewhere sunny. He wants that that more than anything but the more cynical part of him know he can't really have that. That hunting will always be part of his life and that even if somehow managed that family and job, he'd still have to worry about coming home someday to find his wife missing and it turns out she was tortured by a shapeshifter wearing his face.

He's really not in the mood to get close to anyone romantically or even try, bad things happen to the people he loves. bad enough he has to be close to Dean because he's his brother. But, He tries for optimism more than anything but he keeps that level of hope down to a dull roar, so he doesn't end up shorting himself on believing in something too much or hoodwinking his own state of mind.
abilities |
learned | • Knowledge of the Supernatural – Growing up with his father and his life becoming the hunt. Sam has acquired a lot of insight on the creatures lurking in the dark, and on things much needed to take out those creatures. For example he knows silver works on werewolves, beheading a vampire is a great way to rid yourself of one and devil's traps buy you time in order to exorcise a demon with Latin. He is well adversed in the Latin language and knows how to use it. He also knows and understands habits and patterns of supernatural creatures but this doesn't mean he knows every single thing out there. There are things he hasn't come across yet and will come across that will leave him wanting to learn about that specific creature incase he runs into it again.

• Combat – Once again, his father and brother trained him in all things that would help him out in the world to stay alert and alive. Fighting being one of those things. Sam was trained by a marine, he knows combat and understands what to do. He is quick on his feet, fast with his fists and lands heavy blows. While he'll fight fairly against a human being, he won't do so against a bad person or a supernatural creature. He'll resort to underhanded tricks if he needs to, anything to make sure he gains the upper hand. However, Sam is not perfect and because of his girth and large frame, he has a tendency to end up being a little clumsy in some instances or gets thrown around when he loses sight of his range of motion. Though, most of the time he is on par and knows what he's doing.

• Skilled with firearms and knives – Taught by his father and brother, Sam started using guns and blades around the edge of ten. He started out with a simple hand gun, then worked his way up to rifles and shotguns. He didn't start out being perfect at it, infact holding a gun scared him a little and he didn't want any part of it but overtime he grew comfortable with handling them. Now he is proficient with firearms, and his accuracy is nearly perfect on aim. He admits that Dean is probably better at them than him, but it's no joke when it comes to his own skills as a sharpshooter.

As for the blades, he is also skilled in those. He's good at knowing where to cut at arteries, and what points of a plunge on the body of supernatural creatures and even humans, that would hurt terribly or would be instant kills. He also knows how to skin animals from hunting with Bobby and his dad as a kid but he's not a torturer, so he'd likely not use it, even on anything supernatural.

• Research – We know Sam studied pre-law, and in truth, he was very good at doing so. He memorized a lot, was observant in mock cases and had theories or answers to questions that no one really had. This tells us his brain is fresh and ready at attention to do such things as research. He sees patterns, oddities and things no one else gathers from looking through newspapers and news sites on his laptop. He studies things thoroughly to understand what's going on, what he's up against, how to balance it out and how to eradicate the situation. Sam never gets bored of research because he loves learning new things and solving the puzzle.

• Hustling – One thing Sam had a hard time with growing up was learning how to make a quick buck in order to survive but that was what his father taught his two sons and Sam had to go along with it, even though he didn't agree. He even used it in college when he had too. Sam is a pool and card shark, he knows where to hit a pool ball to get it in the right pocket and can tell when someone is bluffing, the fact that he was literally trained to do this, makes him very good at what he does. He makes bets in order to double his money, and will usually use any sort of leisure game in order to do it. One thing he won't do is ask anyone for money or beg, or sell drugs. He's really not that kind of hustler.

weaknesses | Human - Sam is nothing more than flesh and blood. He can be maimed, stabbed, killed, and have serious injuries. While he tries to avoid them, he has been on the burnt end of getting them more than a few times. He is also susceptible to possession, as it has happened in the past but since then he's gotten a anti-possession tattoo. This might not work in this world however, unfortunately.

Clowns - Sam is deathly afraid of clowns, he doesn't want to be near them and he certainly doesn't want to hear about them. It's been shown more than a few times about his fear involving them and it's terrifying for him each time. This might be a trauma from his childhood, when Dean would leave him at Plucky Pennywhistle's as a child, and he had to be around clowns all the time then. Though it's not exactly shown why clowns scare him, it might just be the fact that they were scary to his child self.

third person sample | ANSWERING SOMEONE
He wasn't insecure or shy but the eyebrow raise, made him think for one split second she was about to say no and he was prepared to go up to the counter, order and head back but then the smile eased the thought from his mind and he nodded in return. Not really thinking anything of it that she hadn't said anything. He slid into the opposite side easily, smiling a little as he took in the features of her face and the bright blue eyes, she was really pretty but he didn't have the inclinations to hit on her. He wasn't in the mood and even so, he didn't want to make the wrong impression. Just a meal with a stranger and possible talking. That's all he really wanted.

His arms came to rest on the table, hands slightly clasped as he started speaking. “So hey, I”m Sam.” but she wasn't paying attention to him, she was writing on a notepad. Ah, alright, so she was cool with him sitting at the table but not making conversation. He could deal with that, no matter how awkward that would be. He was about to flag the waitress down, or at least try to since she didn't seem to be having any luck when he first saw her waving but then the notepad was turned toward him and the woman was looking at him this time. He blinked, then looked down at the paper, his head slightly tilted and read to himself. Then it dawned on when he got to the deaf part and he looked back up.

“I'm guessing you can read lips?” He questioned. For a moment he hesitated, wanting to slow his speech and form words like she was a child, which would be offensive and he'd feel like an asshole but he knew deaf kids through highschool and even in college, not that he ever became officially friends with any of them, but when he did talk to them, they seemed to understand what he was saying and then usually spoke to him verbally. The split second hesitation, over, he spoke again. “I'm sorry she's ignoring you. I'll flag her down for the both of us.”

The notepad came his way again and he glanced down, her writing was good enough that he didn't really have to crane his neck. “Andrea. Pretty name,” he said, making sure she could see his mouth. “I'm Sam.” He gave a tilted up side of his mouth in a half smile. “If you're here, you're hungry and you've probably been waiting too long.” He gave her his profile as he turned around to see where the waitress was, spotting her walking back to the counter as he said loud enough for the woman to catch. “Excuse me. Miss? “ She turned to look at him and Sam continued. “We've been waiting for service for awhile. If you could get to us, we'd appreciate it.”

She nodded, then Sam turned back to Andrea. “Hopefully she follows through?,” he said, with a shrug of his shoulders. He picked up his menu, looking over it as he kept it slightly toward the table in order to view her incase she had something else to say. Moments passed and the waitress came over to them, pen and notepad in hand as she spoke. “What can I get for you two?”

Sam glanced at Andrea for a moment, then back to the waitress, whose name tag read Milly. “I'll have the grilled chicken salad with a thousand island dressing if you have it, extra tomatoes, and whatever kind of juice you have,” he told her, then tacked on. “And my friend here, needs to write down her order because she can't hear. If you could give her a few seconds. That would be really nice of you.” He gave the waitress a grin then turned his face forward.

“No problem,” the waitress said with a slightly forced smile, before turning to Andrea. “Sweetie. What can I get you?”
